Essential Facts about our Las Vegas Dentistry Porcelain Veneers
Restoring the beauty of your teeth with dental veneers is an excellent option that is available for individuals living in the Las Vegas area. Porcelain veneers are not temporary changes that you make to the tooth. Due to the fact that a small portion of the tooth’s surface must be removed (approximately .5 mm), you cannot undo this treatment. Therefore, you must be sure that this is what you want to do. Once the porcelain veneers are in place, you cannot switch back to just your teeth.
Las Vegas Dentistry Process for Porcelain Veneers
In some cases, an anesthetic is not used during the procedure. However, if you are particularly sensitive to pain or nervous about the procedure, you may want to request that you are given a local anesthetic during the procedure.

Unfortunately, this process cannot be completed in one sitting. A temporary veneer is not generally made to cover the tooth while you wait for your porcelain laminate veneer to be fabricated. It takes approximately one week for the porcelain laminate veneers to be crafted according to the model taken of your teeth. Typically, however, there is no need to make or utilize temporary restorations.

Only a minimal portion of your tooth’s front is removed, and you should be able to get by with a minimal amount of discomfort as long as you are careful about what you eat and drink. You may experience some sensitivity to cold and hot foods and beverages. This is due to the fact that your enamel is now slightly thinner on the affected teeth. You can monitor the temperature of your food and beverages to minimize this circumstance. Once you have received your porcelain veneers, this sensitivity should disappear.

Once your Las Vegas porcelain veneers are made, you will come back to the office to have them inserted. An anesthetic may or may not be used during the procedure, depending on your personal comfort level. This visit is longer than the initial one as every step is taken carefully to ensure the best results. The porcelain veneers are placed on using a light sensitive resin, which must be hardened using a specialized white light. After a short time, you are ready to smile once again!
